Oakwood Cemetery was a popular spot for local players, containing 5 gyms and over 20 pokestops. Unfortunately, a very limited number of players were disruptive, disrespectful, and irresponsible when it came to patrons of Oakwood Cemetery and the staff. Despite our Admins’ attempts to save the Oakwood Cemetery Pokemon Go presence, City of Concord officials contacted Niantic, resulting in the removal of all Pokestops and gyms, of not just Oakwood, but all cemeteries across Concord.

**This should be a reminder and warning to all players within this community: be respectful, aware, and diligent in regards to your environment when playing Pokemon Go.** As a community, we could have done better ensuring others were following Oakwood’s guidelines . We failed by not correcting others when they were parked on the grass, blocking the pathway of Oakwood patrons, and staying in the cemetery during a funeral or after hours. Going forward as a community, we need to ensure that every Pokemon Go environment is respected through community accountability.

We do urge this community to contact proper authorities when it comes to illegal and dangerous behavior; however, please help other trainers be mindful of their surroundings through feedback. The Admin team encourages you to handle minor incidents privately; however, we understand that some situations may require discretion.
